Life is give and take
Some give
And many take
Because it's a game of tug-of-war you see
But there is no one on your side
And though you tug on the rope it will not budge
For there are many behind the winning team
And none behind you
And across the pit
Where the bets are stacked high
The ballots have all gone through
No one is rooting for you
And though you may pull, you will never succeed
It's a matter of probability
No one bets on a losing team
The game can only bear its fruit of fortune
For one side of the game
And no matter what they say
There is no give and take
It's only take and give
It only flows one way
And in this game of life
The war will never end
It will be your face in the mud
Time and time again
